Microsoft Word – Remove Document Template

If you need to remove a document template embedded into your Microsoft Word document, then follow the quick steps below (written for MS Word 2016):

  • Go to File > Options
  • Select Add-ins


  • In the Manage option set, select Templates, click Go

Now you will be shown the following screen:



Remove/Clear the Document template text area (020140918.dotx as shown in my example above) and click OK.
