Microsoft Imagine Cup 2010

I am currently a Industry Mentor from Intergen for the team “Power Savers” within this years Microsoft Imagine Cup 2010.

“To bring real change to our world, we need bright ideas. So the challenge is for New Zealand students to enter the Software Design Competition of the 2010 Imagine Cup and come up with concept ideas that use technology to solve the world’s toughest issues.”

Q: What does an Industry Mentor do?
A: The mentor’s role is to provide advice on how to be competitive at the Round 2 presentations. The mentor can provide feedback and guidance but cannot do the actual work for the team. The mentor can play an integral part in identifying the strengths of the team members and enhancing them and also helping the team pitch their idea. The judging is based closely on the theme, thus it is important for the team to align their idea with the theme.

Next qualifying round is 24th February 2010 for the NZ Preliminary Finals. Good Luck Power Savers!

UPDATE: Post NZ Preliminary Finals, team Power Savers were not successful to make the Top 4. Been a great journey though! Proud of their success during the competition.
